On Thursday, March 10th, 2011, the Booker Arts Magnet Drama, Visual Arts, and Creative Movement departments hosted a Parent’s Night for Ms. Thomas’ Kindergarten class and Mrs. Morris’ 1st grade class.  Following a meet and greet with cookies and punch, the students performed a short musical play based on the books Have you seen my cat? by Eric Carle and Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes by Eric Litwin.  Parents even joined into the act by participating in the song and dance “Colored Eggs”.  Students and parents also created a visual arts piece together where they designed their very own cool shoes.  “It was a perfect presentation because each child had their chance to shine”, said Anne Weaver, parent of Olivia Weaver in Mrs. Morris’ class.  28 students and their families and friends (approximately 150 people in all) attended the event.  Everyone agreed that the night was, as Pete says,  “all good”!
